BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Mayor Bill Bogaard of Pasadena and the Tournament of Roses have invited Beijing to send their local sponsored Beijing Olympics float for the 2008 Tournament of Roses Parade.
The City of Pasadena's Commission on Human Relations has put out a report recommending that the City should look at human rights violations in China and further referred to the suggestion of the action of inviting the Dalai Lama as a co-grand marshal of the 2008 Rose Parade.
